Les Biennales des Antiquaires 2012 - Paris.
Karl Lagerfeld opened the 26th Biennale des Antiquaires 2012 in Paris. This extravaganza of Haute Joaillerie comes around every two years in Paris and is worth marking the calendar for well in advance.
Among the Houses displaying this year where Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Chaumet and Piaget. Piaget is a House who have caught my eye this year. Founded in Switzerland in the 19th Century the have returned to their founders celebration of the Rose as the theme of their collection for 2012.
It's not only the Rose motif that they use in their Jewellery but also the use of Rose Gold that has won praise in many corners. I've loved Rose Gold since I first discovered it when I was 14 or 15 years old. The light and fire that seem to shine from it is unmistakable and it blends well with many skin tones and colours of precious and semi-precious stone.

London Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2012.
I wasn't able to cover this season in the usual way due to ill health but here is a photo from the exhibit. I enjoyed talking with many designers at the exhibition and vowed to reurn for Autumn-Winter 2013 in the Spring.
Among the designers in this shot were Roksanda Ilincic and I really loved the Lady-chic theme in a season where everyone was eagerly tuned in Downton Abbey again.
The hat in look furthest to the back is divine. A real head turner at the Races.
